Report: Bayern and Manuel Neuer in disagreement over contract length

Manuel Neuer and Bayern München are in talks over a contract extension, but are currently far apart on the length of a potential new deal, Kicker claims.
Negotiations between Manuel Neuer and Bayern München over an extension of the goalkeeper's deal, which runs until 2021, has hit a snag, according to a report from Kicker.

Apparently, the main issue is the contract length. Bayern have reportedly proposed to extend Neuer's contract by two years until 2023, but the 34-year-old and his representative are understood to be holding out for a five-year extension. Therefore, a compromise must be found.

Should the parties not be able to reach an agreement, Bayern will probably consider letting Neuer leave in the summer in order to cash in on him.

The 34-year-old, who joined Bayern from Schalke 04 in 2011, has recently been linked with a move to Chelsea.
