Union confirm Baumgartl signing
Timo Baumgartl has joined Union Berlin on loan from PSV Eindhoven.
1. FC Union Berlin have completed the signing of Timo Baumgartl on loan from Dutch Eredivisie outfit PSV.
The former Stuttgart centre-back returns to Germany on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
"I'm happy to be back in the Bundesliga and to soon be able to play at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei," said Baumgartl.
"I would like to contribute to Union's positive development and establish myself in the Bundesliga together with my new team, but also play a good role in the Conference League and the Cup."
Union Berlin managing director of professional football Oliver Ruhnert commented:
"Timo Baumgartl is an experienced player with many attributes that fit us. Now was a good opportunity for both sides to come together and we are looking forward to a defensive player with many different qualities in a three or four-man backline."
