VfB Stuttgart has secured the long-term services of Florian Hellstern from their own youth academy, the club confirmed today.

Although the date for his new deal has been kept private by Stuttgart, BILD's Leon Potuzhek believes it runs until at least 2030.

A native of Bad Cannstatt himself, Hellstern progressed through every VfB youth team from U-11 to U-21 in nine years.

This season, the 18-year-old is already guarding the goal for the U-21 team in the 3. Liga, accumulating 25 appearances to date.

Hellstern has also been included in Sebastian Hoeneß' first team squad for ten UEFA Europa League matches this campaign.

Last season, the goalkeeper offered up strong performances in eight UEFA Youth League games, as Stuttgart's reached the quarterfinals.

Furthermore, Florian Hellstern is a key player for the youth national teams of his age group, having already earned 23 caps for Germany.

“Florian Hellstern has progressed step by step through the VfB youth academy over the past few years.

"He has impressively demonstrated his qualities this season in the 3. Liga as well as in numerous training sessions with the first team.

"Florian has the potential to develop into a top goalkeeper at the highest level in the coming years.

"We look forward to embarking on this journey together with him," explained VfB Sporting Director Fabian Wohlgemuth.
