Ahead of Germany's Round of 32 clash with Paraguay tonight, Mats Hummels envisage Julian Nagelsmann rejigging his starting lineup.

“The closer the match gets, the stronger the feeling becomes that Kimmich will start at number six," Hummels said on Magenta TV.

"We'll get 2014 vibes at right-back with a centre-back playing there. I think Pavlović is the first option to drop out.

“The combination of Pavlović and Felix Nmecha doesn't quite work. I think Felix has had the better tournament on an individual level,” he said.

Regarding the freed-up right full-back position in his proposed changes, Hummels took a leaf out of Philipp Lahm's pre-tournament prediction.

“I think we'll see Waldemar Anton [at right-back],” he said, alluding to the Borussia Dortmund star who has played there before occasionally.
