In his first press conference of the 2025-26 pre-season, Eintracht Frankfurt's Robin Koch spoke with Eintracht TV to discuss their return to training and Jonathan Burkardt's arrival.

"The preparation is intensive; after today's training session, we're all a little tired. But that's exactly how it should be.

"Extending my contract long-term was a matter of the heart, a gut decision. All my expectations have been confirmed so far.

"On the pitch, things have gone exactly as I had hoped. I'm happy about the role I'm able to play here. You can tell that Eintracht is a special club.

“When the rumor came up, I already asked him [Burkardt] and tried to convince him. Actually, I didn't have to do much; his heart already knew that this was the next step for him," Koch said.

Die Adler's centre-half continued, saying his previously injured shoulder “feels great,” and his anticipation for Champions League football.

"The Champions League is a challenge for us next season, and we're extremely excited about it.

"We're familiar with the rhythm of international matches from previous years, and the level will be different again.

“Nevertheless, we won't lose focus on the league and will give it our all in every game,” he added, while touching on his hope of keeping his place in the German national team.
