With Xaver Schlager set to leave RB Leipzig when his contract expires at the end of the season, reports have suggested that he could reunite with former coach Marco Rose at Bournemouth.

Speaking on the podcast “Man kennt sich, man schätzt sich” (via Bild), the 28-year-old midfielder admitted that a move to the Premier League is appealing to him.

“Well, I don’t have that much time left anymore. I’m not 21 anymore either. Of course the Premier League is a goal, but I’d say there are also other top-five leagues, all of them have a certain appeal,” Schlager said, before adding:

“Of course the Premier League is currently the league everything is developing towards, and where the most intense football is being played.”

Schlager has been with RB Leipzig since 2022, making 107 appearances for the club.
