Reports: Sieb to Mainz loan almost finalized, Zvonarek to follow?

Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal to bring German attacking phenom Armindo Sieb to Mainz on loan is nearly over the line. Record champs FC Bayern München will first purchase the attacker back from Fürth.

In other Mainz-related transfer news, Sky Germany notes that it might be the case that Mainz will secure a second player on loan from the German giants as well.

Rumored to be in the works for some time, Mainz's acquisition of German attacking phenom Armindo Sieb is - according to one source - about to be confirmed. The 21-year-old will be first re-acquired by German giants FC Bayern München from second division side SpVgg Greuther Fürth via a buy-back clause in his current contract. The heavily capped German youth international will then be loaned out to Mainz for the coming season.

Sieb may not be the only player headed to the Rheinhessen on loan from the German giants in the coming days. Sky Germany reports that Mainz are among the parties interested in taking FCB midfielder Lovro Zvonarek on loan. The 19-year-old German youth international made five appearances for Thomas Tuchel's senior Bayern team this season. He scored his inaugural Bundesliga goal four minutes into his first start on match-day 33.

Zvonarek also had a successful season for the Bayern reserves, netting eight goals in 22 appearances for FCB II. The German record champions did not hesitate to sign him to a professional contract shortly after his successful starting debut. Sky reports that there exist multiple parties interested in Zvonarek. Ajaz, Anderlecht, and SL Benfica are also said to have enquired about a potential loan.
