After scoring two goals and providing an assist in three group-stage matches, Johan Manzambi once again proved decisive for Switzerland early on Friday CEST, setting up the opening goal in their 2-0 round of 32 victory over Algeria in impressive fashion.

Amid his standout World Cup performances, interest in the SC Freiburg midfielder has grown significantly in recent weeks, with Newcastle United among the clubs understood to be monitoring him closely.

According to Sky Germany, Freiburg are in principle prepared to sell their rising star – but only for the right price, with his valuation having increased due to his impressive international displays.

The Breisgau club are said to be demanding a fee in the region of €50-70 million for the highly-rated midfielder.

Reports from England suggest that Newcastle are pushing to get a deal done, but Sky states that Manzambi is fully focused on the World Cup and doesn't want to make a decision until after the tournament.
