With the second matchday of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season in the books, Bulinews Editor-in-Chief Rune Gjerulff has selected his Team of the Week:

Goalkeeper:

Alexander Nübel, Stuttgart

The Bayern loanee bounced back from a poor DFB-Pokal outing, making six saves to help Stuttgart keep a clean sheet against Gladbach.

Defenders:

Ridle Baku, RB Leipzig

Very active on the right flank, completing three dribbles, 92% of his passes, and providing an assist. Also won five of six duels.

Adam Dzwigala, St. Pauli

Scored a rare goal for St. Pauli from a well-executed corner combination, while remaining solid defensively and accurate in passing.

Ramy Bensebaini, Borussia Dortmund

Key part of Dortmund’s clean sheet, winning three duels, making seven clearances, and completing 90% of 110 passes.

David Raum, RB Leipzig

The Leipzig captain impressed against Heidenheim, providing an assist and five key passes.

Midfielders:

Nadiem Amiri, Mainz

Dominant in midfield, winning six of nine duels and making five key passes. Stepped up to score a late penalty and secure a point.

Christoph Baumgartner, RB Leipzig

Seized his opportunity in Leipzig’s starting eleven following Xavi Simons’ departure, capping a strong performance with a well-taken goal.

Ritsu Doan, Eintracht Frankfurt

Scored a brilliant first-half brace before assisting Eintracht’s third goal against Hoffenheim.

Marius Bülter, 1. FC Köln

The former Hoffenheim attacker was on fire against Freiburg, contributing a goal and two assists in 1. FC Köln's impressive 4-1 win.

Strikers:

Serhou Guirassy, Borussia Dortmund

Netted a clinical brace to lead Dortmund to a comfortable win over Union Berlin.

Patrik Schick, Bayer Leverkusen

Scored twice to try and carry Leverkusen to victory, but his efforts weren’t enough as ten Hag’s side had to settle for a 3-3 draw.
