Having been linked with a move away for some time, Ko Itakura is widely expected to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach at the end of the season.

According to Kicker, Gladbach "can hardly prevent" a move for the 28-year-old this summer.

The centre-back's current deal runs until the summer of 2026, and he has yet to accept an offer to extend his contract.

There were offers for Itakura both in the winter and last summer, but Gladbach didn't want to sell him.

With just one year left on Itakura's contract in the summer, Die Fohlen could finally cash in on him.

Gladbach already have a replacement for the Japanese defender in Kevin Diks, who will join from FC Copenhagen this summer.

Itakura joined Gladbach from Manchester City in 2022 for a reported 5 million fee.
