Speaking to Sky Germany, former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn shared his thoughts on Florian Wirtz's decision to opt for Liverpool over Bayern Munich.

“I'm not sure it's about the clubs. I think it's first about the league. I don't know whether it's a problem for Bayern or a problem for the Bundesliga.

"As a player, the Premier League is the most attractive league: from a sporting, economic and media perspective. The marketing opportunities are global in the Premier League.

"That's the first thing I would consider as a player. When you think: okay, now I go to Bayern and become German champion for the 16th, 17th, 18th time - is that really appealing to me?

"Of course winning the Champions League is always appealing. There are a lot of thoughts and considerations that a young player has.

"Then of course there's the team: which team, which system and which coach fits me better,” Kahn questioned, in a rhetorical manner.
