17-year-old Artem Stepanov has signed a contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen beyond 2027.

"Artem Stepanov has developed brilliantly here with us in Leverkusen both in terms of physicality and the football side," said Bayer 04 managing director for sport Simon Rolfes.

The Ukrainian striker made his senior debut in a 5-0 Champions League win over RB Salzburg in November.

Stepanov himself said that by signing a contract extension at Leverkusen, he has “achieved a first target”.

"I wanted make my case for a professional career in Germany. I've succeeded in doing that and at an absolutely top club. What I can learn here is of inestimable value. I will work hard and fight to get my chances,” said Stepanov.
