Paderborn seal Philipp Klement loan

SC Paderborn 07 sign out-of-favor VfB Stuttgart attacker Philipp Klement until the end of the season.
Philipp Klement and Paderborn are reuniting after a few seasons away.

After the Ostwestfalen team promoted to the Bundesliga, Klement was sold to Stuttgart for over 2 million Euros. Since then, Klement has had a tough time in Baden-Württemberg, with inconsistent first-team spells, and he's featured in Stuttgart's second team.

Klement excelled in Paderborn, scoring 18 goals and assisting 13, he was a key diamond in Steffen Baumgart's treasure and when it was taken away, Paderborn considerably struggled more in the Bundesliga. After the sale of Klement, the play-making responsibility was handed to Sebastian Vasiliadis - he is more of a box-to-box midfielder. The attack was never the same. In truth, it's never been the same since.

Paderborn have now signed two exciting attacking options in the January transfer window: Florent Muslija and now Philipp Klement. One is a younger, more raw player. The other is a more experienced, 'been there done that' player. The attack was previously an issue for Paderborn. Now? Lukas Kwasniok is spoiled for choice.
