Wolfsburg boss on Svanberg links: "We know the player"

Wolfsburg boss Jörg Schmadtke has commented on reports linking Bologna's Mattias Svanberg with a move to Volkswagen Arena.
VfL Wolfsburg are edging closer to the signing of Mattias Svanberg from Bologna, according to several sources.

Wolfsburg managing director Jörg Schmadtke has confirmed interest in the Swedish international today, telling Wolfsburger Allgemeinen:

"We know the player."

Reports from Italy claim that a deal to sign the Swedish international has already been agreed.

Meanwhile, German magazine Kicker reports that Wolfsburg are indeed making progress in their pursuit of Svanberg, but that nothing is agreed yet.

Bologna are said to be holding out for around €8-10 million for the 23-year-old central midfielder, who could replace Xaver Schlager at Wolfsburg following the Austrian's move to RB Leipzig.
