'Angry' Thomas Müller hits out at Löw and DFB

Thomas Müller has criticized Joachim Löw and the German Football Association over the way he was excluded from the national team along with Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels.
Bayern München star Thomas Müller has posted a video on Twitter and Instagram in which he blasts Joachim Löw and the German Football Association over the way he was told that his international career is over.

Löw travelled to Munich on Tuesday to inform Müller, Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels that they're no longer in his plans. And Müller now admits the way the situation was handled has made him angry.

"I was perplexed by the sudden decision of the national team coach," Müller said in his statement and added:

"A national team coach needs to make sporting decisions. I don't question that. But the longer I think about it, the more I'm angry about the way it was done. I don't understand the suggested definitiveness of the decision. Mats, Jerome and I are still able to play at the top level. Together with the German Football Association, we have been on an intensive and mostly successful path."

"And when - shortly after we learned about the decision from the national team coach - prefabricated statements by the DFB and the DFB president are issued to the press, then it's not good style in my opinion and has nothing to do with appreciation," Müller said.

The 29-year-old also thanked for his time as a national team player and underlined that he'll keep fighting.

"I've always been proud to wear the DFB jersey and have always given my all. I want to thank you for your massive support. It was an incredible journey with my 100 caps. People who know me are aware that I'm a fighter, and I'll look forward. The game is not over yet," Müller said.

Bayern München and Jerome Boateng have also issued statements about the decision.
