Yannik Keitel could move to another Bundesliga club in January, according to information from the Stuttgarter Nachrichten.

The daily news outlet suggests FC Augsburg are making a strong effort to sign the defensive midfielder from VfB Stuttgart.

Both clubs are reportedly deep in negotiations, and Keitel himself is said to be open to the move to the Bavarian side.

The 25-year-old, who joined as a free transfer from SC Freiburg in the summer of 2024, has long been considered a departure for the club.

In the current campaign, the former German U-21 international has not featured for the first team under Sebastian Hoeneß.

Keitel was even recently sidelined with a muscle injury. Whether the move will be a permanent transfer or a loan remains to be seen.

Augsburg have already had a busy start to the January winter transfer window, offloading Phillip Tietz to Mainz 05
