Schalke could have brought in Serge Gnabry as a replacement for Leroy Sané
Serge Gnabry could have ended up at Schalke 04, reveals the club's former coach Markus Weinzierl.

But the German international, who now plays for Bayern München, instead ended up joining Werder Bremen, because he was deemed too expensive by the Schalke bosses.
"I should have done more. In hindsight, when the club told me that Gnabry costed €5 million too much, I should certainly have done more to make the transfer come true," Weinzierl said in an interview with Sportbuzzer.
Gnabry played one season at Werder Bremen before joining Bayern München in 2017. He then spent the 2017/18 on loan at Hoffenheim.
