The 21-year-old Austrian midfielder has established himself as one of Bundesliga’s rising stars and is reportedly on Manchester United’s radar. The versatile midfielder who is capable of covering almost every position in the center half is now on the radar of some of the world’s biggest clubs, of which Manchester United seem the most keen to lure him away to Old Trafford.

The previous 2019/20 season was a major breakthrough in his career, displaying commendable performances across all fronts. He has been at 1899 TSG Hoffenheim since 2017 and with current RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann breaking him through the first team at Hoffenheim, Bundesliga now has a prodigy in its hands. His style of play has seen him attain the tag as 'the new Michael Ballack'.

This season, Baumgartner has made 25 appearances for the club, scoring 5 goals in the process and assisting 7 – across Bundesliga, Europa League and DFB Pokal – recording a staggering 1,769 minutes on-field.

He has also earned 5 caps for the Austrian national team, scoring two goals.

His contract at Hoffenheim runs out in 2023 and the Manchester giants have reportedly kept tabs on him all season. With his current market value at €18m (TransferMarkt), he is certainly a transfer that will boost United’s attacking line.
