Köln coach Markus Gisdol criticizes Emmanuel Dennis
FC Köln coach Markus Gisdol has explained why Emmanuel Dennis has dropped to the bench.
Back in January, FC Köln brought in 23-year-old striker Emmanuel Dennis on loan from Club Brugge to improve their offensive firepower.
After seven Bundesliga appearances, however, Dennis is yet to find the back of the net in the league, and Köln coach Markus Gisdol admits he expects more from the 23-year-old striker.
"I'm currently not 100 percent satisfied with his performances," Gisdol said in an interview with Bild .
Most recently, Dennis came on for the last eight minutes as Köln fell to a 2-1 defeat against Union Berlin on Saturday.
"I brought in the players with the best form," said Gisdol.
"Due to the personnel situation, we are not blessed with strikers with extreme goal threat up front."
Gisdol's Köln side sit 14th in the Bundesliga table, one point above Hertha BSC in the relegation play-off spot.
