FC Midtjylland center midfielder Jens Cajuste, who recently made his national team debut for Sweden, has been targeted as a potential transfer by Borussia Mönchengladbach.

According to German reports, The 1999-born playmaker is close to joining the Bundesliga side on a €3m transfer fee that might see him play second fiddle to Florian Neuhaus in the centre of the field.

His five-year contract with the Danish side expires in June 2023 before which the club will look to cash in on his services.

Cajuste began his youth career with Gothenberg-based side Örgryte IS before moving to Midtjylland on a five-year contract.

He helped the side win the Danish Superliga in 2019/20.
