Wolfsburg closing in on €16 million striker, per WAZ

The USMNT striker could be set for a return to the Bundesrepublik.

VfL Wolfsburg has taken an important step toward signing Josh Sargent, according to sources at AZ/WAZ.

Reports suggest both parties have already agreed on a transfer for the EFL Championship marksman.

Die Wölfe are still negotiating a transfer fee with second division club Norwich City, which could settle at around €16million.

Ideally, the United States international will complete the move and begin training camp with VfL Wolfsburg next Sunday.

The 25-year-old has also previously played for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, making 72 appearances and scoring 13 goals.

Last season donning the yellow and green of the Canaries, Sargent found the net 15 times with a further 5 assists in 32 games.
