Last week, Bild reported that Bayern Munich and Dayot Upamecano were largely in agreement on an extension of the centre-back’s contract, which expires this summer.
However, speaking on Sunday, Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl denied that Upamecano has accepted the club's proposal.
“As long as Dayot hasn’t given the green light, we can’t say anything,” Eberl told DAZN.
“What’s being written about us, what people might have heard somewhere – it's all just suppositions. He hasn’t agreed anything yet; everything is still on the table. Let’s wait and see, step by step.”
Upamecano has been linked with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 27-year-old French centre-back joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2021 and has since established himself as a key figure in the heart of Bayern’s defence.
