A month ago, Sky Germany reported that Bayern Munich were on the verge of agreeing a contract extension with Dayot Upamecano.

However, an agreement has yet to be reached and Bild is now reporting that negotiations are nowhere near that stage, although both the player and the club are keen to continue working together.

According to the German tabloid, a "quick agreement" is not in sight, with the report claiming that the parties are still relatively far apart on salary.

Bayern are reportedly hoping to extend the French centre-back's contract from 2026 to 2030.

Upamecano joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2021. He has featured 33 times this season, scoring twice.
