Benedikt Gimber is reportedly on the verge of leaving 1.FC Heidenheim, according to information from Sky Germany.

The central defender is said to transferring from the 2.Bundesliga side to FC Granada in the Spanish second division.

There, the 29-year-old, who has been playing in Heidenheim since 2023, has already put pen to paper on a contract until 2028.

Gimber successfully passed the medical check with Granada today, with the announcement of the deal confirmed by Granada.

With regards to a transfer fee, the German second-division club will reportedly receive a low six-figure amount.

It comes as somewhat of a blow for an already defensively thin Heidenheim squad, begging the question if a replacement will be acquired.
