Hoffenheim confirm Bernardo signing

TSG Hoffenheim have officially announced the signing of Bernardo, with the Brazilian centre-back joining the Bundesliga side on a free transfer from VfL Bochum.

"Bernardo is an experienced and uncompromising defender who is expected to bring significantly more stability to our back line. He’s also versatile and can play in various defensive positions," said Hoffenheim managing director for sport Andreas Schicker. 

"He has consistently demonstrated his abilities at a high level in the Bundesliga as well as in the English Premier League in recent years. What stood out most was his relentless desire to protect his own goal - a quality that will definitely benefit our squad. Bernardo attracted interest from several other clubs, so we’re very pleased that he made a clear and committed decision to join TSG Hoffenheim."

The 30-year-old spent two seasons at Bochum after joining from Austrian side RB Salzburg in 2023.
