RB Leipzig consider re-signing Norwegian shot-stopper Ørjan Nyland

The out-of-contract 35-year-old would play as a backup to Maarten Vandevoordt in Demichelis' new-look Leipzig squad.

Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig are reportedly in talks with Norwegian goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland regarding a summer transfer.

Sky Germany understands that the 35-year-old is one of the candidates if Peter Gulácsi decides he wants to join Villarreal.

Nyland was already under contract with RB Leipzig during the 2022-23 season, having joined as a free agent at that time as well. 

Now, he is once again being considered by Leipzig and would fill in as a second-choice option behind Maarten Vandevoordt.

Prior to his time at Leipzig in 2022-23, Nyland also had Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga experience with thee years at FC Ingolstadt 04.

Nyland also started in 5 of Norway's 6 games in the run to the quarter-finals of 2026 World Cup, with his best display coming against Brazil.
