1. FC Magdeburg continued their squad building for the upcoming season with two more contract extensions for key players. After top-scorers Mateusz Zukowski and Baris Atik penned new deals at the club, the captain Dominik Reimann and center-back Tobias Müller followed their footsteps on Friday.

Reimann joined Magdeburg from Holstein Kiel in 2021, and hasn’t missed a game in the past three 2. Bundesliga seasons. The 29-year-old goalkeeper was at Borussia Dortmund’s ranks at youth level.

Meanwhile, Müller extended his contract until 2028. The 32-year-old defender played 192 competitive games in Magdeburg colors in two spells. He returned to the club in January 2024 after a couple of seasons with Paderborn.

Magdeburg avoided relegation to 3. Liga last term with big improvements in the second half of the season. They will start their 2. Bundesliga campaign at home to Eintracht Braunschweig next week.
