A new Czech player for Hoffenheim?

According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, former West Ham defender Vladimír Coufal is set to sign for Hoffenheim.

“If it ain't broke, don't fix it” - this famous saying might be behind Hoffenheim's latest transfer strategy. 

After letting club legend Pavel Kadeřábek leave the club this summer after 10 years of loyal service, die Sinsheimer are reportedly set to sign a replacment, who also represented the Czech Republic in the past as a right-back: Vladimír Coufal.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg has reported, that the 32-year-old, who's currently a free agent, has completed his first part of his medical with Hoffenheim. The second part is scheduled for August 5th.

Coufal has featured in 180 games for former club West Ham since 2020, before his contract wasn't renewed at the end of last season.

Coufal would join Robin Hranáč and Adam Hložek at Hoffenheim as the 3rd Czech player in their squad. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is set at €5 million.
