Haller seen as the favorite to replace Haaland at Dortmund

Sebastien Haller is being touted as a possible replacement for Erling Haaland at Borussia Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund have lined up Ajax forward Sebastien Haller as a possible successor for Manchester City-bound Erling Haaland, according to reports from Germany.

According to both Der Spiegel and Sport1, the 27-year-old is Dortmund's preferred candidate to replace Haaland.

Dortmund recently confirmed the signing of a new forward in the shape of Karim Adeyemi from RB Salzburg, but Haller would be more of a direct replacement for Haaland because of his stature, physicality and ability to play as a target man.

"Good talks" between the parties are said to be underway, but having already spent around €50 million to sign Nico Schlotterbeck and Adeyemi, Dortmund need to sell players in oder to afford Haller, who would cost at least €35 million.

Haller, who used to play for Frankfurt, has been in great form this season, scoring 34 goals in 42 games for Ajax. His contract expires in 2025.
