Köln consider purchasing Darmstadt's Tietz and Dresden's Königsdorffer

It appears as if 1. FC Köln's attempts to restock the attack this offseason will first focus on the German lower division.

SV Darmstadt striker Phllip Titez and Dynamo Dresden winger Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer are reported to be candidates.

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that 1. FC Köln have their eye on SV Darmstadt striker Phillip Tietz. The 24-year-old Braunschweig native just completed an eminently successful season, scoring 15 goals and chipping in nine assists for there Lillies as they narrowly missed out on the promotion playoff spot.

As die Geißböcke prepare to build a roster fit for Europe, personnel director Christian Keller will need to acquire more than one extra attacker. Local newspaper Kölner Express reports that the cathedral city side's front office also have their eyes on Dresden winger/forward Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer; scorer of five goals and provider of four assists this year for the relegated SGD.

Köln's new director of sport remains on record as saying that he will institute strict salary limits on his 2022/23 footballing roster. It is for this reason that a departure for the team's leading goal-scorer, recent statements notwithstanding, still appears likely. Keller seems to be on the lookout for lower cost alternatives, willing to spend a bit on transfer fees provided he can negotiate lower player salaries.

Tietz has an estimated market value of €1.7 million in the latest transfermarkt listings while Königsdorffer is thought to be worth around €1 million.
