Frankfurt updates: SGE in agreement with Algerian attacker, club also scouts Swedish talent

Christopher Michel of German broadcaster Sport1 reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are in agreement with Algerian international Farès Chaïbi over a summer transfer. The demands of the 20-year-old's current club FC Toulouse nevertheless point to protracted contract negotiations. 

Michel also reports that negotiations for the transfer of French Algerian midfielder Houssem Aouar have officially fallen through.

In other transfer-related Eintracht news, Swedish daily Aftonbladet reports that Markus Krösche and the SGE administrative team have their eye on Kalmar FF midfielder Carl Gustavsson.

The latest information on the buckling transfer of Algerian international Houssem Aouar to Eintracht Frankfurt is that the Hessen-based club have officially given up on attempts to acquire the 24-year-old following repeated shifty behavior from the player's agent. This is reported by reliable German footballing journalist Christopher Michel of German broadcaster Sport1.

In a post appearing on his social media feed today, Michel also confirms reports originating from other sources that Eintracht have been very active in their pursuit of another Algerian international currently playing in Ligue 1. The SGE are said to have agreed to personal terms with FC Toulouse attacking midfielder/winger Farès Chaïbi.

The 20-year-old Lyon native maintains an estimated market worth of €10 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. Michel cites his own sources to claim that Toulouse nevertheless want upwards of €16 million for the young talent. With the two sides so far apart on a potential transfer fee, negotiations could drag out for some time.

As Eintracht continue to plan their offseason re-stock - quite the task considering that two key players (Daichi Kamada and Evan N'dicka) will be departing on frees and numerous others such as Djibril Sow, Randal Kolo Muani, and Jesper Lindstrøm are rumored to be headed for the exits - Swedish daily Aftonbaledet reports that newly capped Swedish international Carl Gustafson is in the SGE sights.

The 23-year-old central midfielder will be available on a free when his current contract with Kalmar FF expires. The defensive-minded prospect has earned two caps with the senior Swedish men's national team this year. The Swedish source does note that many other European clubs are also scouting the newly minted international.
