After missing VfB Stuttgart's 3-1 win over Mainz with a hip problem last week, Alexander Nübel remains unavailable for Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Darmstadt.

"Alex hasn’t trained this week. It’s nothing serious but he’s still restricted in certain movements," said Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness at a press conference on Thursday, at which he confirmed that Fabian Bredlow will fill in again.

Anthony Rouault will miss the game as well after undergoing nose surgery.

"Anthony Rouault had an operation on Monday and won’t be involved against Darmstadt. There’s still too much swelling," said Hoeness.

Whether Silas will be back in the squad after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations is unclear.

"Silas was with the team for the first time today. He hasn’t trained yet so we’re not sure about his availability for Saturday," said Hoeness.
