FC Bayern München youngster Jamal Musiala has apparently decided he wants to play for England instead of Germany.

Born in Stuttgart to a Nigerian father and a German mother, the 17-year-old moved to England at the age of seven.

Having played for both countries at age-group levels, the promising winger has now confirmed that he wants to represent England, according to Germany head of academy coaching Meikel Schönweitz.

"Not least because of his involvement with the DFB in the past, we have of course been concerned with Jamal Musiala and showed him what we can offer," Schönweitz told Süddeutsche Zeitung and added:

"However, he has clearly signaled to us that he currently sees his future with England.

"We accept his decision and wish him all the best for his sporting career."

Musiala came through at Chelsea's academy before returning to Germany to join Bayern München's youth setup in the summer of 2019.

He has played nine games for the Bavarians this season, scoring two goals.
