Following injuries to Iñaki Williams and Brandon Asante, Ghana coach Otto Addo has called up Hamburger SV forward Ransford Königsdörffer as a replacement.

The 24-year-old striker has joined the Ghana training camp in Vienna at short notice after receiving his first international call-up in over a year and a half.

This gives him the opportunity to put himself back into contention for a place in Ghana’s World Cup squad.

Ghana have two friendlies coming up, first facing Austria on Friday before taking on Germany on Monday.

Königsdörffer has scored five goals in 30 appearances for HSV this season.
