After days of speculation, Danish international Jesper Lindstrøm has officially joined Wolfsburg, swapping the Italian coast for the Autostadt. He arrives on a season-long loan, with a reported €12 million option to buy should the loan spell prove to be fruitful for both parties.

The 25-year-old spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Premier League side Everton, where he made 25 league appearances and registered one assist. However, once pre-season began it became clear that Lindstrøm had little future under Antonio Conte, prompting another move away from Naples.

“Jesper has experience in the Bundesliga and at the international level. With him, we are gaining a dynamic and very flexible player who can fill almost any position in midfield. We are pleased that he is already part of our group and will work with the team in the training camp,” said Wolfsburg sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz.

Bundesliga fans will remember Lindstrøm from his two standout seasons with Eintracht Frankfurt (2021-2023), which earned him the move to Napoli. Now, he’ll be aiming to rediscover that form with Die Wölfe, as new head coach Paul Simonis looks to make a strong start to his tenure.
