After rumours circulated on Sunday afternoon, Wouter Burger succeeds Anton Stach at TSG Hoffenheim.

The Sinsheim-based club has officially announced the signing of the 24-year-old midfielder from Stoke City.

Hoffenheim will pay the EFL Championship club around €4-5million euros, as Burger signs a long-term contract.

In the past two seasons, Burger made 86 competitive appearances for the Potters scoring 5 goals with 6 assists in that time.

"With his size and physicality, Wouter is not only an uncompromising tackler with a very good understanding of the game, but thanks to his strong left foot, he also has qualities in attack.

"Furthermore, he is at the best age for football and, at 24, has already gained a great deal of international experience," said managing director of sport at TSG, Andreas Schicker.
