It’s been months since Bayern Munich announced that Tom Bischof would be joining the club from TSG Hoffenheim at the end of his contract this summer.

However, Bayern are hoping to have the central midfielder at their disposal a few weeks earlier - specifically for the start of the Club World Cup, which kicks off later this month.

Whether that will be possible remains unclear, with Kicker reporting that the Bavarians have yet to reach an agreement with Hoffenheim.

The Sinsheim side are said to be demanding a small compensation payment to let Bischof leave early, and it’s unclear whether the record champions are simply trying to negotiate the fee down or are unwilling to pay anything at all.

Bayern find themselves in a similar situation with Jonathan Tah. In his case, the Bavarians are reportedly reluctant to meet Bayer Leverkusen’s €5 million asking price.
