Borussia Dortmund confirm signing of Brazilian youngster

Borussia Dortmund have officially confirmed the signing of Kaua Prates from Cruzeiro.

The 17-year-old Brazilian centre-back will join the Black and Yellows this summer on a long-term contract running until 2031.

“With Kaua, we have been able to secure an extremely exciting player for us. He is still very young and is one of the most talented players in South America. We are convinced that his skills, ambition, and potential for development make him a perfect fit for Borussia Dortmund,” said BVB managing director for sport Lars Ricken.

Kaua Prates, who has made 17 appearances for Cruzeiro's first team, added:

“I am very proud to be able to play for this great club starting this summer. I am extremely excited and will give my all in black and yellow from day one to be successful with BVB.”
