Daniel Heuer Fernandes has agreed a new two-year contract with Hamburger SV, Hamburger Abendblatt reports.

According to reports, the 33-year-old was offered a new deal several weeks ago, but negotiations proved difficult for a while due to differing salary expectations.

Heuer Fernandes was even mentioned as a potential replacement for Manuel Neuer at Bayern Munich at one point, but that door was effectively closed when the 40-year-old extended his contract.

23-year-old Sander Tangvik, who was handed a rare start and saved a penalty in the season finale against Bayer Leverkusen, will continue as backup to the experienced goalkeeper heading into the 2026/27 season.
