Borussia Mönchengladbach and Germany forward Tim Kleindienst has been sidelined since May with a torn meniscus - and he is still a long way off returning.

Originally, Kleindienst was expected to be out for three to four months, but now it seems the forward may not return until around half a year after suffering the injury.

“Tim is right on schedule, but we’ll have to be patient until November,” Gladbach managing director for sport Roland Virkus was quoted as saying by Sky Germany.

“He would love to be back already and is very eager, but we have to be patient with him after this injury.”

Kleindienst found the net 16 times in 33 games for Die Fohlen last season.
