Abdoulaye Faye has signed a new long-term contract with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Bundesliga club confirmed on Monday that the 21-year-old defender has extended his deal until 2031.

Die Werkself also announced that Faye will join Spanish side Celta Vigo on loan for the 2026/27 season, with no purchase option included in the agreement.

“Abdoulaye Faye has tremendous potential, which he demonstrated both last season in France and during the first few weeks of the current pre-season with us,” said Bayer 04 director of professional football Kim Falkenberg about Faye, who spent last season on loan at FC Lorient.

"With the loan move to Spain, we hope that he can gain further valuable experience at a high level, including in international competition, and take the next step in his development.”
