Reports: Stuttgart and Nottingham Forest in agreement on Mangala transfer

Both Sky and "The Athletic" presently report that VfB Stuttgart and Nottingham Forest have arrived at an agreement for the transfer of Orel Mangala.
Two reliable sources now report that Orel Mangala's transfer to newly promoted Premiership side Nottingham Forest is imminent. After an initial bid of €11 million was rejected, Sky and "The Athletic" claim that the EPL club has upped their offer to the previously requested €15 million. The highly significant deal would swing VfB Stuttgart's offseason transfer balance into the black, giving VfB Sporting director Sven Mislintat an estimated plus of €8.6 million heading into the final month of the transfer window.

Such a figure may have ramifications for Stuttgart's will to sell other high-profile players. The rumor mills continue to produce seemingly infinite tales of lead-striker Sasa Kalajdzic and buccaneering full-back/winger Borna Sosa. It should be emphasized that, at least in the opinion of journalists George Moissidis of German footballing magazine Kicker, very little (if anything) surrounding these two players is credible at the moment.

Mislintat has been active in shedding players off of his oversized roster. A rumored deal to loan out Roberto Massimo to Portugal was completed this week. Young attacking prospect Mohamed Sankoh was also sent to SBV Vitesse Arnhem in the Erdevisie for the coming campaign. Stuttgart's professional roster now stands at 32 players; a number still generally considered too large for a Bundesliga squad. One assumes that, at a minimum, Mislintat will wish to offload three more actors.
