Eintracht Frankfurt board member for sport Markus Krösche has played down reports suggesting that Daichi Kamada is close to joining Benfica.

"I assume that he will stay," Krösche insisted in an interview with DAZN ahead of tonight's game against Werder Bremen.

Kamada has just one year left on his contract, meaning that Frankfurt risk losing him for free next summer if they decide to keep him.

"We'd like to extend his contract. He also feels comfortable here and knows what he has in us," said Krösche.

"I'm relatively confident that he will play a few more games with us."
