Bayer boss confirms that Schalke match will serve as Seoane's "Endgame"

Speaking on Germany's famed Sunday footballing roundtable "Doppelpass", Leverkusen manager Fernando Carro issued a fresh take on the status of his club's embattled head-coach Gerardo Seoane.

At the very latest, Bayer's Swiss trainer has until next Saturday to turn the team's fortunes around.

After giving his trainer unequivocal backing over the international break, Leverkusen manager Fernando Carro made clear that Gerardo Seoane won't continue coaching the team under any and all circumstances. In point of fact, next week's league fixture against newly promoted FC Schalke 04 will serve as Seoane's end-game in the Swiss trainer can't turn matters around.

"Against Schalke, you have to get the three points," the Spaniard unequivocally demanded whilst appearing on Germany's "Doppelpass" footballing program, "I am a pragmatic person. In the end, it's the results that count. We need good results in the very, very, very short term."

"The way we performed in Munich cannot continue. That is unacceptable," Carro added in an echo of recent comments from sporting director Simon Rolfes, "The coach has not lost the team. We want to achieve the turnaround with him [Seoane], but do not assume that we are so naive as not to be prepared."

Leverkusen must first face FC Porto on Tuesday in their third round UEFA Champions' League fixture.

Seoane's comments regarding the "very, very, very, short term" and the fact that club management is "prepared" might even suggest that Germany's red company team are even ready to dump Seoane midweek should another embarrassment occur.
