The rumored transfer of Lucas Tousart from Hertha BSC to 1. FC Union Berlin is, according to Germany's main sporting tabloid, set to go through today. Germany's "Sport Bild" paper also has some new news as pertains to the transfer fee. Apparently, Hertha are so eager to get the 26-year-old off their payroll that they are willing to let the Frenchman go for as little as €3 million.

Hertha continue to try and offload their highly paid professionals ahead of their coming campaign in the German second division. Jessic Ngankam, Omar Alderete, Santiago Ascacibar, Maximilian Mittelstädt, and Tolga Cigerci have all already been shed. Striker Krzysztof Piątek's transfer to the Turkish League was finally confirmed yesterday. Hertha allowed the Pollack to depart on a free.

Tousart once cost the capital city's Charlottenburg side €25 million during the "spending spree" window under the failed Jürgen Klinsmann coaching regime in January of 2020. As was the case with Ascacibar and Piatek (also acquired during that window), the net-loss for the Berliners is quite staggering.
