Daniel Thioune's F95 squad will hope to benefit from two loan signings secured on Monday afternoon. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim defensive prospect Joshua Quarshie received a contract extension from his parent club before being loaned out. The 19-year-old - despite making only one brief relief appearance for the senior side - is still considered a gifted young talent.
"Joshua is a very talented central defender who still has a lot of potential and can bring us all a lot of joy at TSG in the future," TSG personnel executive Pirim Schwegler noted in a Hoffenheim statement accompanying the news, "That's why we've decided to extend his contract long-term until 2027."
Another familiar name with slightly more Bundesliga experience is also headed to the famed German "punk rock" city. Former FSV Mainz 05 attacking prospect Marlon Mustapha - sold by the Rheinhessen last summer - returns to German football after a brief stay in the Serie B. The 22-year-old Austrian also arrives on loan from Italy's Como 1907.
In reporting on the two transactions, Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that Mainz have secured a purchase option for Mustapha. No such clause exists in Quarshie's deal as he is expected back in Sinsheim at the conclusion of the season. F95 sporting director Christian Weber called Mustapha a "versatile, exciting, and assertive attacker" in a Fortuna statement accompanying the news.
