Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is "open" to the possibility of joining Bayern Munich this summer as a replacement for the departing Thomas Tuchel, according to Sky Germany.

The report claims that the Spaniard has a release clause in his contract set at around €15 million, but it won't be active until the summer of 2025.

Should he wish to leave at the end of the season, Leverkusen are expected to demand around €15-25 million for him.

However, Bayern are not the only club interested in Xabi Alonso's services, with Liverpool also said to be keen.

Recently, reports have suggested that the Reds have made contact with Xabi's agent, Inaki Ibanez.
