Earlier this summer, 1. FC Nürnberg’s Caspar Jander was pursued by VfB Stuttgart, but the two clubs were unable to agree on a transfer fee.

Now, according to Sky Germany, the 22-year-old central midfielder is heading to England instead.

The report states that a full agreement has been reached for Jander to join Southampton, with the midfielder set to fly to England today, Thursday, to complete his medical.

It remains unclear how much Nürnberg will receive for Jander, but a figure of around €15 million has been mentioned.

Jander quickly established himself as a key player in central midfield for Nürnberg following his free transfer from MSV Duisburg last summer.

He scored three goals and provided nine assists in 33 games in the 2. Bundesliga last season.
