FC Augsburg’s defender Dimitrios Giannoulis is about to return to PAOK after two seasons in Bundesliga. The Greek left-back joined the Bavarians as a free agent after the end of his contract at Norwich City in 2024.
According to a source from Greece, the transfer fee will be €3.5 million plus bonus payments. The clubs reached total agreement, with official confirmation to follow shortly.
The Greece international played 58 Bundesliga games for Augsburg. He scored three goals and assisted nine times during his time in Bavaria. Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town and Hull City were linked with the 30-year-old earlier in the transfer window.
Giannoulis initially left PAOK in a loan deal to Norwich City before completing his permanent transfer for €7.5 million in 2021. He has played 34 times for the Greece national team since making his debut under the German coach Michael Skibbe in 2018.
