Sport1 understands that Bayern Munich's chief scout Nils Schmadtke has been facing criticism internally since spring of 2026.
Some of the club's bosses are pointing the finger at the scouting department for the repeated leaks of the club's personnel plans.
This suspicion, among others, which concerns his department, could now cost Schmadtke his job at the German record champions.
Popular tabloid Sport BILD believes an adequate replacement has already been lined up in the form of Christopher Vivell.
Vivell is currently head of scouting at Manchester United and he was previously at technical director at Chelsea FC.
With the 39-year-old's contract with the Red Devils set to expire in June 2027, Bayern could realistically sign him with little fuss.
During his time at RB Salzburg, Vivell is believed to be the eagle-eyed scout behind the recruiting of Erling Haaland and Karim Adeyemi.
